Our History

The group was first started in June, 2015 to meet the need for an informal social group for people with dementia and their carers. Singing Sensations was chosen as the name for the group by those attending in the early days of the group and the name has been retained as singing is well known to be of great benefit to those with dementia. Singing Sensations since it’s inception has been based around friendship and mutual support with singing, reminiscing and chair exercises to music being found to aid memory. It is run entirely by volunteers with first hand experience of dementia.
